Good Morning! On this day in 1915, Broward County was created and named after former Gov. Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, rather than Everglades County, as originally planned.
As of Monday, about 14 million Florida residents were living in areas of drought, an increase of 18.3% from last week. You can see your area here.
Later today, we will email you on behalf of our partner, Timeplast, with an investment opportunity in groundbreaking sustainable packaging technology. We hope you find it worth exploring.

Citrus Growers Could Get $200 Million
A bill passed unanimously by the Florida Senate and awaiting House approval proposes $200 million for citrus growers to support recovery efforts, including tree replanting and grove rehabilitation.
Of that amount, about $190 million would be allocated for field trials focused on grove management, disease-resistant varieties, and therapeutic tools.
The initiative would also fund research into alternative crops like olives, hops, hemp, and muscadine grapes, which are already being tested in parts of the state.
Industry leaders and growers are optimistic that the proposal will gain bipartisan support and help the citrus industry rebuild.
Florida Technology Footprint is Growing
Osceola County officials announced the launch of the Florida Semiconductor Engine at NeoCity, a project to train workers and attract businesses from around the world.
With $500 million in federal investment, the 500-acre NeoCity campus in Kissimmee is leading the state’s effort to manufacture semiconductors.
Meanwhile, in St. Petersburg, Haddy, a 3D-printed furniture company, opened its first micro-factory on April 10. The 32,000-square-foot facility is the world’s largest 3D printing hub and is powered by artificial intelligence and robots.
The facility’s north bay houses a fleet of robots—Ada, Bumblebee, Clio, Dali, Edison, and Fibonacci—actively 3D printing furniture using melted materials repurposed from old fishing nets and plastics.
