Florida Attorney General Sues TikTok
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier sued TikTok on Monday, accusing the platform of violating the state’s 2024 online child-protection law, House Bill 3, and deceiving parents about app safety.
The complaint, filed in St. Lucie County, names TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance, alleging that the app allows users under 14 to create accounts and that younger teens can sign up without parental consent.
The suit also claims TikTok violated Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act by describing sexual content, drug references, profanity, and self-harm themes as “mild” and “infrequent” in app-store listings.
“TikTok’s success hinges on its ability to addict children and teenagers to the platform,” Uthmeier said. He warned the company could face “potentially billions in damages.” He added that the state has used undercover agents to monitor content, finding that some children use the app up to eight hours daily.
Uthmeier noted Meta has complied with the law by deleting hundreds of thousands of accounts, while a similar suit against Snapchat is ongoing. The state is seeking civil penalties, attorneys’ fees, and a court order halting future violations.
Florida Bans Rescue Pets Over Screwworm
Florida is blocking rescue and shelter dogs and cats from Texas and New Mexico after the flesh-eating New World screwworm was detected in both states. The screwworm is a parasitic fly whose larvae feed on the living tissue of warm-blooded animals.
Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson said the state would respond based on “facts, not fear” while remaining the most aggressive in the nation at protecting its livestock, pets, and $2 billion-plus cattle and livestock industry. No screwworm cases have been found in Florida.
The emergency rule creates “infested zones” around any county with a confirmed case and requires veterinary inspection certificates for other warm-blooded animals entering the state. Violators face fines.
Of the U.S. cases confirmed so far, at least 10 were in Texas cattle and a goat, while New Mexico found the parasite in a dog. The fly was eradicated from the U.S. in 1966, save for a 2017 outbreak in the Florida Keys.
IVF Mix-Up Parents Reach Custody Deal
A Central Florida couple at the center of an IVF mix-up has reached a custody agreement with their baby’s genetic parents, court documents show.
Steven Mills and Tiffany Score gave birth to a daughter in December 2025 after IVF treatment at the Fertility Center of Orlando in Longwood, only to discover through genetic testing that the child was not biologically related to them.
Under the confidential agreement, filed June 12, Mills and Score will remain the girl’s permanent custodial parents. The baby’s genetic mother, identified in filings as “Patient 004,” was traced through a March 2020 egg-retrieval group and chose to remain anonymous until testing confirmed the match.
The couple filed a lawsuit against the clinic earlier this year, and attorneys say they are now transferring a remaining embryo attributed to them to a new facility for testing.
Court records indicate “laboratory-clinic errors” that could support malpractice claims, and the plaintiffs plan to amend their suit. The Fertility Center of Orlando has shut down operations.

$DRNI Prepares for Potential Nasdaq Listing
But the real opportunity is now, before Doroni takes to the skies.
After nearly a decade of R&D, they just unveiled a full-scale showroom model of their flying car, the H1-X, to 4,000+ attendees of their Soul of the Sky event in March. It was so impressive FOX Business called it “the flying car set to revolutionize personal air travel.”
It’s already been preordered by 600+ people, good for $240M in potential revenue for Doroni. And with commercial deliveries targeted for 2028, this futuristic promise is nearly a modern-day reality. And by 2032, Doroni projects $1.4B/year in revenue. They’re scaling fast, and you don’t want to miss your chance to become an early-stage shareholder.
