The city of Tarpon Springs teamed up with Pinellas County and hosted the Storm Mitigation Expo on Saturday. Experts offered practical tips on properly using sandbags and where to place debris after a storm.
The Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa is urging residents to “plan, prepare, and prevail” in its home matters courses. The nonprofit, known for helping people purchase homes, said that it hopes its courses will help keep those homes safe.
The most recent course offers insight into how homeowners can weatherproof their homes, pocketbooks, and paperwork. Having cash on hand is one of the basic instructions, along with which documents to keep handy.
Researchers Discover Potential Cancer Vaccine
University of Florida researchers have discovered what they say could lead to the development of a universal vaccine that can “wake up” the immune system to fight cancer.
“It’s a potentially paradigm-shifting discovery,” UF Health pediatric oncologist Elias Sayour said. “This could potentially be a viable approach for every single cancer patient.”
A study, published in Nature Biomedical Engineering, showed that an experimental mRNA vaccine boosted mice’s resistance to tumors when paired with common anticancer drugs.
The vaccine is now being used in human trials. If it has the same effect as in mice, it could provide an alternative to surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
Pensacola Named a ‘City on the Rise’
LinkedIn ranked the Pensacola metro area as one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. for jobs and new talent in its inaugural “cities on the rise” list.
The list uses LinkedIn’s labor market data to identify 25 emerging mid-size U.S. cities where hiring is accelerating, job postings are up, and talent migration is reshaping local economies.
Pensacola ranked No. 25 and has “new energy” in its housing market, drawing job seekers, homebuyers, and high-tech manufacturing. The city is a “Gulf Coast hub where economic opportunity meets a laid-back lifestyle just steps from the beach.”
The top three cities were the Grand Rapids metro area in Michigan, the Boise metro area in Idaho, and the greater Harrisburg area in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s Reset Can Give Birth To America’s Greatest Era Yet
In 1933, Executive Order 6102 forced everyday Americans to hand over their gold at a fixed rate.
Citizens lost a sizable amount of their hard-earned wealth at the stroke of FDR’s pen.
His next move has the power to trigger a financial reset that could shift trillions of dollars into the hands of the people. A provision buried in the U.S. Code Title 31, Section 5117 allows the U.S. Treasury to revalue America’s gold reserves from an outdated $42 per ounce to today’s market price.
