Good Morning! On this day in 1948, Steve Garvey was born in Tampa. Known as Mr. Clean, Garvey’s game-winning two-run home run for the San Diego Padres in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the 1984 National League Championship Series was ranked as the greatest sports moment in San Diego history.
Florida runs on hospitality, and this interview with Albert Black, the new wine specialist at the Perry Hotel in Naples, explores some of the lessons he’s learned in a storied career: “Curiosity and listening drive growth.”
Today’s sponsor, Dr. Steven Gundry MD, is warning readers that a popular “healthy” breakfast food may be quietly disrupting gut health—and he’s revealing the three breakfast foods he says to stop eating starting today.

The Flyover Funding Round is Closing
We want to share this with Flyover readers directly.
Our current investment round is closing next month, and we believe it will fill. More than 60% is already subscribed, and once it’s closed, this opportunity will be gone.
That’s why we are making a strong end-of-year push, because we’d love to welcome as many Flyover reader-owners as possible before the end of 2025.
An End-of-Year Bonus for Readers
To make that easier, we’re extending our bonus shares through the New Year:
+10% End-of-Year Bonus Shares
+5% Reader Bonus Shares → 15% total bonus shares, with additional bonuses available for larger investments
This bonus is available only while shares remain and is part of this year-end push.
What Early Investors Have Already Made Possible
Reader-owners have helped The Flyover truly take off in 2025:
Over $3.1 million invested
More than 2,100 investors
Reader growth from ~1.5M to 3.6M+ in one year
73% year-over-year revenue growth
88% year-over-year gross profit growth
Podcast launched from zero to nearly 500,000 monthly views and listens
That growth wasn’t accidental. It came from readers stepping up and backing a different kind of media company.
Why This Matters
Legacy media is losing trust, audience, and relevance—doubling down on bias, spin, and click-driven outrage.
The Flyover is doing the opposite.
In 2025, we put legacy media on notice—by creating one of the fastest-growing fact-first, common-sense news sources in America for those who are tired of being lectured to and manipulated.
If you believe news should inform, not inflame…
If The Flyover has become part of your daily routine…
If you want to help build the alternative millions are looking for…
Today is your opportunity to become an owner before the end of the year and before this round closes next month.
This round closes next month. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
Supreme Court Upholds Death Sentence Law
The Florida Supreme Court upheld a state law allowing non-unanimous juries to sentence people to death, maintaining the state’s status as one of only two in the nation that do.
The decision, released last week, affirms a 2023 law that ended a unanimous jury requirement in death penalty sentencing, rejecting arguments by death row inmates Michael Hunt and Michael Jackson that their sentences are unconstitutional.
Florida’s law allows capital punishment with a jury recommendation of at least 8-4 in favor of execution, the lowest standard in the nation. Alabama is the only other state to allow death sentences by non-unanimous juries, with the threshold of 10-2.
Florida lawmakers passed the jury measure in response to a verdict that spared the life of the school shooter who killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
Florida Releases History Prints
Florida’s History Shop is offering commemorative giclée prints featuring reproductions of key documents and images from the state’s past to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
The prints showcase moments in Florida history alongside the broader American story, including a 1582 map of La Florida, an 1836 map titled Tanner’s Florida, and historic versions of the Florida Constitution preamble from 1838 and 1885.
“Through these products, we are making history tangible,”State SecretaryCord Byrd said. “These reproductions of key documents in Florida’s history help citizens connect with the moments that forged Florida and the United States.“
The giclée prints are available for purchase at the Florida History Shop retail locations inside the Florida Capitol and the Florida Historic Capitol Museum. Each purchase includes a certificate of authenticity and a letter from Byrd. The prints are currently sold out online.
Airports Prepare for Record Travel
An estimated 122.4 million people are expected to travel in the U.S. between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1, according to AAA. Airlines expect more than eight million travelers to take domestic flights, while nearly 110 million Americans will travel by car.
Orlando International Airport is gearing up for a potentially record-breaking holiday travel season, with Central Florida expected to be the nation’s hottest year-end destination.
The busiest travel days at Orlando International Airport (MCO) are projected to be the weekend of Jan. 3-4, with over 195,000 passengers expected each day.
In South Florida, Fort Lauderdale and Miami rank in the top three destinations nationwide behind Orlando. Bad weather has caused disruptions, with over 60 delays and three cancellations reported by Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) on Saturday.
