Over 17,300 packages of the drug 7-OH have been removed from Florida retailers in 23 counties since the state banned the substance from commercial sale in August.

Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson issued a news release explaining that state agents have inspected stores across the state and removed the drug from shelves as directed.

These ‘wellness’ products are nothing more than vape shop morphine, and we will continue using every tool at our disposal to educate and protect families, and make sure these products have no place in our communities,” Simpson said.

The drug 7-OH was readily available at smoke shops, vape stores, convenience stores, and gas stations before the ban. It is a derivative of the Kratom plant.

A man wearing goggles and a wetsuit robbed a Disney Springs restaurant early Monday after ordering employees to get on their knees, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The robbery happened after midnight at Paddlefish at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. No one was injured, and the thief did not have a weapon. After leaving the replica steamboat, the man is believed to have jumped back into the pond and swam away.

Two employees said they were in the manager’s office when a man wearing a mask and all black clothing came in and forced them into a corner before telling them to get down.

It’s unknown how much money was stolen, but the incident report lists a potential grand theft charge in the third degree, which covers robberies of $10,000 to $20,000.
