Attorney General James Uthmeier and leaders from 21 other states filed a 16-page brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a case between a couple and the Leon County school system.

The case involves the parents of a 13-year-old child who was allowed to use a gender identity in school that the parents didn’t support or know about.

Parental rights have taken on new focus as an ever-growing number of public-school officials are placing it upon themselves to make life-altering decisions for children in place of, or in direct conflict with, parents’ convictions,” the brief said.

Several conservative organizations have also filed separate briefs in support of January and Jeffrey Littlejohn, the parents who filed a petition at the Supreme Court after the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided in favor of the school district.

In its ruling, the three-judge federal appeals panel stated that the school district did not compel the Littlejohns’ daughter to do anything and “did not act with intent to injure.”

Article Icon 1Orlando Names Poet Laureate Amid Criticism

On Monday, Mayor Buddy Dyer named mental health therapist Camara Gaither as Orlando’s new poet laureate. The announcement came after Florida’s DOGE team questioned the need for the salaried position.

Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia mocked the poetry program, saying, “Using your tax dollars to write poems. Roses are red, violets are blue, our property taxes are high because of you.

Gaither will compose original poems and present them at city events and youth activities “to inspire emerging generations of literary artists and poets.”

There is no doubt that Orlando is a better place to live and work because of our vibrant arts and cultural scene,” Dyer said.

If the city council confirms her, Gaither would become Orlando’s third poet laureate. She would receive a $6,000 annual salary during a four-year term, a $2,000 increase from the salary of her predecessor, Shawn Welcome.

Art and Life in Rembrandt’s Time: Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection opens at the Norton Museum of Art on Oct. 25. It is the largest exhibition of privately held Dutch 17th-century paintings ever organized in the U.S.

Among the highlights are over a dozen paintings by Rembrandt van Rijn and the only painting by Johannes Vermeer in a private collection. The West Palm Beach museum will offer the show through March 29.

Thomas Kaplan and his wife, Daphne, own the 17 Rembrandt paintings that comprise the world’s largest privately held collection, rivaling the 22 in Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum.

To date, the Kaplans have amassed over 220 paintings and drawings by important 17th-century Dutch artists.

Three Men Walk Into A Brewery…

And realize they could do things infinitely better.

That realization evolved into Colorado’s own Westbound & Down, a brand founded by three best friends passionate about beer, food, and hospitality. Their vision wasn’t just to brew great beer, but to rethink the American brewpub experience from the ground up.

The results speak for themselves: 20+ national awards, 2,700% growth in distribution sales, and packed brewpubs every weekend. With retail partners like Whole Foods and 900+ other accounts on board, demand is quickly outpacing supply.

That’s why they’re working to 4X production capacity by 2028, with a new Denver brewpub on the way.  Even better? You can share in their growth as an early-stage investor.

The Recipe for 2,700% Growth

There’s a major shift taking place in the $282B craft beer market. Once dominated by distribution, approximately 75% of today’s businesses operate taprooms and brewpubs, prioritizing the customer experience.

It’s no secret why. They’re outperforming distribution-focused models. However, one startup is proving there’s another way, utilizing brewpubs to drive 2,700% distribution growth, and investors are taking notice.

Meet Westbound & Down. Their team redefines craft brewpubs with world-class brewing talent and Michelin Star backgrounds. That approach has earned over 20 prestigious awards, a partnership with Whole Foods, and distribution across more than 900 accounts.

A new flagship Denver brewpub is on the way. Now, they’re letting investors share in their growth as they work to scale distribution 4X by 2028.
