Good Morning! On this day in 1998, Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
As the Atlantic hurricane season approaches its end in November, the odds of Florida being struck by a tropical system are fading. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, just 16 tropical cyclones have come within 30 miles of the Florida coast during November since records began in the mid-1800s. Soon, we can all take a collective sigh of relief.
If you’re tired of sleepless nights, weak flow, and feeling chained to the bathroom, you’ll be genuinely surprised by what scientists at Harvard just revealed about prostate growth. Today’s sponsor, Viriflow, has the details.

Port St. Lucie School Bombing Hoax
A TikTok video warning of an impending bombing at Southport Middle School in Port St. Lucie caused panic before it was discovered to be a hoax from a 14-year-old who is now in police custody.
The video circulated among students and parents and included text that read, “On Monday The 20th Southport middle Is getting bombed by me Stay home alright.“
Concerned parents flooded the Port St. Lucie Police Department on Sunday night, prompting detectives to launch an investigation to identify the person behind the TikTok alias “Benjamin Franklyn.”
Within five hours, police identified a Southport Middle School student who admitted to posting the video as a prank. Police said no explosives or materials were found, but the teen was charged with one count of electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct an act of terrorism.
Cocoa to Reapply for Brightline Station
Cocoa officials are preparing to reapply for almost $50 million in federal funding that could transform the city into a major transportation hub connecting Central Florida to Miami.
Brevard County’s plan to get a passenger rail Brightline station in Cocoa hit a setback last year when a $47 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration was denied.
At an Oct. 14 meeting of the Brevard County Commission, Commissioner Thad Altman said his conversations with the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization had given him hope that the project would be eligible for federal funding.
The proposed stop off Clearlake Road, near State Roads 524 and 528, would connect directly to Brightline’s existing Orlando-to-Miami route, positioning Cocoa as a gateway between Central Florida attractions and South Florida’s metropolitan areas.
NASA Could Sideline SpaceX in Race to the Moon
NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy said on Monday that the U.S. space agency will reopen a contract to build the Human Landing System (HLS) for the Artemis III mission, which aims to land astronauts on the moon. The contract was originally awarded to SpaceX.
“I love SpaceX; it’s an amazing company. The problem is, they’re behind … and we’re in a race against China,” Duffy said. “So I’m going to open up the contract. I’m going to let other space companies compete with SpaceX.“
A NASA spokesperson said SpaceX and Blue Origin, as well as the entire space industry, have until Oct. 29 to submit plans “for how NASA can increase the cadence of our mission to the moon.”
Blue Origin is currently developing its Blue Moon lander, which is slated to debut on Artemis V. Other current Artemis contractors include Boeing, which is building a portion of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS), and Lockheed Martin, the lead contractor for NASA’s Orion capsule.
