Article Icon 1DeSantis Comments on Musk’s America Party

As speculation grows about what Elon Musk will build at a new SpaceX facility in Myakka City, Gov. Ron DeSantis commented on Musk’s plans to launch a new political party called the America Party.

I think Washington needs to be overhauled 100 percent, but I just don’t think a third party is going to do it,” DeSantis said following an education-related news conference in Jacksonville.

The governor said Musk should either primary Republicans or help pass constitutional amendments regarding term limits and a balanced budget.

Musk’s decision to start a new party followed sharp disagreements with President Donald Trump over the newly passed One Big Beautiful Bill. DeSantis has not criticized the GOP megabill, but he has also avoided praising it.

Newly released reports from the Florida Department of Education on the 2024-25 school year graded 28 of Florida’s 67 districts with an “A,” 31 with a “B,” eight with a “C,” and none with a “D” or “F.” The total of “A” and “B” scores was up 7 percentage points over last year.

At a press conference in Jacksonville on Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis and outgoing Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. highlighted continued success in K-12 education, saying the “use of statewide progress monitoring” has paid off.

Scores were based on student math, science, reading, and social studies assessments and graduation rates, among other factors. Districts needed a score of 64% or higher to receive an “A.”

The highest-scoring counties were Nassau and St. Johns at 74% and Lafayette and Walton at 73%. Hamilton at 52%, Jefferson at 51%, and Gadsden at 49% scored the lowest.

Jacksonville’s first-ever professional women’s soccer team, Sporting Club Jacksonville, known as Sporting JAX, kicks off next month with two preseason soccer matches. The team opened training yesterday with closed-door play.

The preseason friendlies against the Scottish Women’s Premier League champions, Hibernian FC Women, on Aug. 2 and the Wrexham AFC Women on Aug. 10 will be played at UNF’s Hodges Stadium. The team will play home games there as it works toward a planned soccer stadium.

Last week, the women’s team signed several key players with international and overseas experience. Sporting JAX plans to launch a professional men’s team in the USL Championship league, the second tier of professional men’s soccer in the U.S.

Sporting JAX will debut in the Gainbridge Super League with a home opener against DC Power FC on Aug. 23 at Hodges Stadium.

Scientists at University College Cork have validated a surprising 10-second method that’s transforming how women fight signs of aging—without creams or invasive treatments.

In a study involving 674 women with deep wrinkles, sagging skin, and dark spots, researchers found that using this simple technique in front of the mirror each day led to dramatic improvements in appearance within just a few weeks.

What’s more shocking? This unusual method has been shown to be up to 10 times more effective than retinol, without any of the harsh side effects like redness, irritation, or dryness.

It’s fast, painless, and surprisingly easy to do at home. Thousands of women are already using it to look 10, 15, or even 20 years younger—and the results speak for themselves.
