Good Morning! On this day in 1951, noted historian William Thomas Cash died. He was the first state librarian and a member of both the Florida House of Representatives and the state Senate.
It’s National Cow Appreciation Day. Cattle were first introduced to North America in Florida in 1521 by Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon. Today, the Sunshine State ranks 9th in beef cows and 13th in overall cow inventory nationwide.
We’re sponsored today by Pacaso, offering a a chance to invest in a business that is turning the vacation rental market upside down.

Tomato Growers Cheer End of Mexico Deal
Florida lawmakers are applauding the U.S. Department of Commerce’s decision to withdraw from an agreement with Mexico to control tomato imports, saying that Florida farmers will benefit from being able to compete fairly in the marketplace.
Florida tomato growers have asked the Commerce Department for years to terminate the 2019 Tomato Suspension Agreement, saying Mexico has been selling their products at prices below those in the U.S. market—a practice known as “dumping.”
Industry officials say that when the first Tomato Suspension Agreement was reached in the mid-1990s, Florida had nearly 300 tomato producers. Now, there are a few more than 30.
Legislators in Arizona and Texas fiercely oppose the measure, claiming that the 17.09% tariff on Mexican tomatoes will harm their economies and provide consumers with less choice and higher prices.
Professional Cricket Comes to South Florida
Professional cricket is being played in the Sunshine State as Major League Cricket (MLC), the top-level American cricket league, which hosts matches at Broward County Stadium at Central Broward Park in Lauderhill.
This past Saturday’s first matchup, between the LA Knight Riders and MI New York, had a scattered but noisy crowd of about 3,000 people.
Broward County Stadium’s cricket field has hosted matches for over a decade, but this is the first time the stadium has hosted top-level, domestic club matches after becoming the first International Cricket Council-certified stadium in the U.S.
MLC features Twenty20 cricket, a faster-paced version of the game that lasts about as long as a baseball game.
Jacksonville Named America’s Most Boring City
A new nationwide ranking has found Jacksonville to be the most boring city in America due to its lack of nightlife, cultural attractions, and dining diversity.
FinanceBuzz evaluated 75 major cities, assigning each an excitement score based on nightlife, dining variety, cultural landmarks, outdoor recreation, and festivals. Jacksonville received just 14.3 points.
Florida and Texas have two cities among the 10 most boring cities: Jacksonville and Tallahassee in Florida, and Corpus Christi and San Antonio in Texas. Conversely, two of the five most exciting cities in the country, Miami and Orlando, are in the Sunshine State.
Jacksonville leaders pushed back, arguing the report overlooks gems like the St. Johns River, local art walks, and a growing craft beer scene.
Now, after setting records in Paris and London last year, they’re planning to expand into major destinations like Rome, Milan, and Florence. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
