Question: Where in Florida is there a mini Alcatraz for naughty monkeys?

Answer: Monkey Island, Homosassa Wildlife State Park

G.A. “Furgy” Furgason built a wildlife attraction that included a small group of monkeys. Soon, though, the monkeys became a problem, swiping candy from children, breaking into cars, and biting the hands of food-offering visitors. Fed up, Furgy kept saying he wished he could send the monkeys to Alcatraz. And then he did it! Furgy moved the little hooligans to a tiny island in the Homosassa River, added a tiny lighthouse, and called it Monkey Island.
