Good Morning! On this day in 1942, Bob Ross was born in Daytona Beach. After learning to paint while stationed in Alaska with the Air Force, he went on to host more than 400 episodes of The Joy of Painting, teaching millions that mistakes are just happy accidents. Misplaced keys, a name that won’t come, and a parent telling the same story twice in one afternoon. Somewhere around age 50, memory stops being something we take for granted and starts being something we worry about. Researchers say nearly half of dementia cases could be prevented or delayed, and the steps that help are surprisingly ordinary. The No. 1 suggestion isn’t a puzzle or a pill, and it might be the easiest one on the list. Ayla counts down the seven things you can do to protect your memory on today’s episode of The Flyover Podcast. Tune in here!

King Tide Swamps South Florida Coast
Saltwater flooded Fort Lauderdale streets for a third straight day on Wednesday as an unusually powerful king tide lingered along South Florida’s coast.
Northeast winds gusting up to 40 mph pushed the tide higher, swamping neighborhoods like Riviera Isles, where longtime homeowners called it the worst flooding in decades. In Miami Beach, streets and docks went under on Tuesday, with one resident saying it felt like “walking in the canal.”
Water spilled over the Riverwalk seawall, and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue sent high-clearance trucks to pull residents from flooded homes.

Doral Schools Go Virtual for G20
Seven Doral schools, as well as local charter and private schools, will go virtual on Dec. 14 and 15 while world leaders gather for the G20 Summit at Trump National Doral.
The U.S. Secret Service will lead security with FEMA and the FBI, and local law enforcement warned that daily life in the city will be disrupted both days. Miami-Dade School Board member Danny Espino said the concern is parents and teachers not reaching campuses on time.
“Dec. 14 and 15, the eyes of the world will be on Doral,” said Mayor Christi Fraga, noting delegations representing about 85% of global GDP. It will be the first G20 hosted in the U.S. since Pittsburgh in 2009.

Rays’ World Series Run Ends in Game 5
The Tampa Bay Rays’ season ended on Wednesday night as the Milwaukee Brewers clinched the World Series with a 4-1 Game 5 win at Tropicana Field for their first title.
Drew Rasmussen, pitching on three days’ rest, gave up one run over four innings. But Jacob Misiorowski blanked Tampa Bay for 5⅔ innings before leaving with a calf cramp, and Cooper Pratt drove in two runs as Milwaukee pulled away.
The Rays avoided a shutout by scoring once with two outs in the ninth.
The loss came a night after pinch hitter Ben Williamson’s 12th-inning walk-off single kept the Rays alive. Tampa Bay, a 98-win team, has now lost all three of its World Series trips, after falling in 2008 and 2020.
