Article Icon 1Colder than Normal Weather Hits Florida

A cold front is bringing lower temperatures and drier air to the Sunshine State. Temperatures are dropping below average for this time of year, and morning temps will be some of the coolest since last February.

The remnants of what was once Tropical Storm Sara merged with the front over the Gulf of Mexico, bringing a few showers to the West Coast early Wednesday, with most of the rain staying to the south.

By this morning, the wind shifted to the northwest, bringing clearer skies and temperatures in the 50s. Those temperatures should stay in the high 60s for much of the weekend.

On Tuesday, Universal Orlando Resort presented its first in-depth look at a new addition to one of the theme park’s most beloved areas. You can see photos of the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Battle of the Ministry ride here.

The ride will be the centerpiece of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Ministry of Magic, one of five lands opening in May 2025 as part of Universal Orlando’s heavily promoted third theme park, Epic Universe.

Accessing the Ministry requires a trip via the Métro-Floo fireplace network that will transport guests from the new theme park land’s main setting of 1920s Wizarding Paris directly into the British Ministry of Magic, set circa the 1990s.
