Six men were arrested this week in an undercover Miami-Dade sting targeting adults seeking to pay for sex with minors during the FIFA World Cup.

Four of the men, each accused of agreeing to pay $150 to $200 for sex with someone they believed was 14 or 15, were charged with human trafficking of a minor, traveling to meet a minor, and prohibited computer use. Two are also being held on ICE detainers.

All six are being held without bond. The sting follows earlier trafficking arrests by the county’s 70-agency task force as the tournament continues.

Florida’s housing market notched its ninth straight month of rising home sales in May, with closed single-family sales up 0.6% and condo-townhouse sales up 6.6% from a year earlier. The statewide median single-family price climbed 2.4% to $425,000.

The gains came as 30-year mortgage rates held near 6.5%, stable over the past six weeks and below last year’s levels. Miami-Dade posted its own ninth straight monthly gain, with total sales up 7.9%.

Economists say the trend’s staying power hinges on where rates go next, though rising pending sales point to continued momentum this summer.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission identified 31-year-old Brittany Clark of Orlando as the woman killed by an alligator on June 28 while swimming with friends in Little Big Econ State Forest.

Trappers captured and killed a 13-foot gator at the scene and a 12.5-foot gator a half-mile away; DNA testing will determine which attacked Clark, who is remembered by family as full of life and adventure.

Separately, a juvenile was bitten on the hand while fishing at Nelson’s Fish Camp in Marion County on June 27, the third Central Florida gator attack in seven days.
