Wildfires Burning Near Everglades
Fire crews are battling two separate wildfires that started on Sunday near the Everglades in Collier County, as many in South Florida see the smoke and feel its effects.
Officials are calling the two blazes the Grand Fire and the National Fire as they continue burning within the Big Cypress National Preserve. As of Wednesday, the Grand Fire had burned less than 5 acres, while the National Fire had burned between 15,000 and 25,000 acres and was 0% contained.
The National Fire chewed through dried brush near State Road 29 and had blocked a lane on I-75 eastbound.
Smoke from the two fires reduced visibility along Alligator Alley and Tamiami Trail. Some of that smoke has moved into parts of Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys.

Silver’s Rise Can Make or Break Your Retirement
It has surged over 300% over the past 12 months. It’s crucial to the AI revolution, but demand is far outstripping supply. It has become a go-to safe haven asset for global institutions, Wall Street investors, and everyday Americans as the economy becomes more unhinged. And before this current run-up, almost no one gave it a second thought.
Retirement savings like 401(k)s and pension plans are growing increasingly vulnerable. A bursting stock bubble, a collapsing dollar, or one conflict halfway around the world can send your funds’ value plummeting.
You can protect that value with physical silver. Thanks to an IRS loophole, you can legally transfer the value of your 401(k), TSP, Pension, or IRA into physical silver and gold.
Silver is unique among commodities, with soaring demand from investors and industry. And its 6-year supply deficit gives price a solid floor and no ceiling. Bank of America said silver could break $300 this year. Don’t miss this opportunity to fortify your finances with vital physical assets.
