Protesters gathered across Florida and the nation as part of the “No Kings Day” demonstrations on Saturday, coinciding with a military parade in Washington, D.C., commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. Saturday was also Flag Day as well as President Trump’s birthday.

“No Kings” protestors in Sarasota at Cattleman and University Streets were met by anti-protestors waving Trump flags.

Thousands of protestors also gathered in North Florida in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Tallahassee, as seen in these photos.

In downtown Miami, protestors gathered near The Torch of Friendship, while others showed up to celebrate Trump’s birthday.

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed 12 new laws on Friday. House Bill 653 allows juries to consider new aggravating factors in death penalty cases, including whether the crime targeted a head of state, such as the U.S. president or a state governor.

Another bill, HB 847, created the Expedited DNA Testing Grant Program, which gives funding to law enforcement to help test evidence for DNA.

In addition, under HB 987, which designates 20 new stretches of road across the state for memorial and honorary purposes, a four-mile stretch of road near Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach County will be renamed President Donald J. Trump Boulevard.
