Article Icon 1Court Asked to Block Florida Congressional Map

Voting rights groups filed an emergency request Thursday asking the Florida Supreme Court to halt the state’s newly drawn Republican congressional map before Monday’s candidate qualification deadline.

The new map, passed in a May special session, could deliver up to four additional Republican congressional seats in the 2026 midterms, according to WUSF. A circuit court judge declined to block it last week, prompting the appeal to the state’s highest court.

Plaintiffs argue corrective maps could still be drafted before qualification opens, calling Monday the last practical window for judicial intervention before the districts lock in for the 2026 cycle.

Article Icon 1Study Finds Trees Save Roofs in Hurricanes

Florida International University researchers found that strategically placed trees can reduce suction forces on roof sections by up to 50% during hurricanes, according to a new study—offering a practical, affordable option for homeowners heading into hurricane season.

The study, published in the Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics found that common Florida trees—including pines, oaks, and palms—reduce those forces at the critical roof sections where storm damage most often begins.

Researchers said the findings are particularly relevant for coastal communities rebuilding their tree canopies after recent storms, suggesting that replanting efforts can double as hurricane mitigation.

Article Icon 1World Cup Arrives in Miami

The FIFA World Cup opens June 11, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens will host its first match June 15—Saudi Arabia vs. Uruguay—as South Florida prepares for seven matches through July 18.

Federal and local law enforcement are assembling a massive security operation, with the FBI warning fans not to attend without tickets or bring drones to any venue during the 48-nation, 104-match tournament.

Miami is one of 16 host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—and getting to the stadium on match days will require serious planning ahead, with major road closures expected throughout the tournament window.

The Hidden Cost of ChatGPT: A Lithium Crisis

That ChatGPT answer you just got? It ran on electricity. A lot of it.

OpenAI’s data centers consume more power than some small countries, and every one of them runs rows of lithium-ion battery backup systems to keep servers alive if the grid hiccups.

The world isn’t producing enough lithium to keep up. And one company is making major moves to fill the gap.

EnergyX just announced plans for a second lithium project in the United States, sitting on approximately 2.4 million tons of lithium in Utah. They’re projecting $600M+ in annual revenue at full scale, and retail investors can currently claim an early-stage stake.

Here’s why the timing matters.

Demand is projected to hit 5.5 million tons by 2040. And that was before the AI buildout got priced in.

McKinsey now projects battery demand growing 30% annually through 2030. The supply gap is widening and not going away.

EnergyX is positioned at the center of it.

Invest before the 7/16 deadline.

Discovered: 328 Years Worth of Lithium

The United States just discovered a massive lithium reserve in the Appalachia region, a 328-year supply based on America’s 2025 import totals.

With Morgan Stanley forecasting an 80,000-ton shortage this year alone, the sooner we can tap into it the better.

For companies like EnergyX, that spells opportunity.

Their patented technology can recover lithium 500X faster than traditional methods. It’s why industry leaders like General Motors have already invested.

Now, they hold rights to up to 13 million tons of untapped lithium across the Americas. And they just announced plans for their second U.S. lithium production facility.

All of which puts them on the short list of companies capable of turning massive reserves into fast results.

Claim your piece of this lithium boom as an early-stage EnergyX investor before the 7/16 deadline.
