In case you missed it on The Flyover Podcast, Amy broke down why that stubborn throat tickle might have nothing to do with the cold going around. Doctors point to a surprising culprit behind all the coughing and throat-clearing, and the remedy most people reach for first could actually be making things worse. One popular nasal spray should never be used for more than three days, and that lump-in-your-throat feeling might not even be real. Amy covered the culprit, the fixes that work, and the habits to drop. Tune in here!

Isaias Kills Two in Escambia County
Two people died in Escambia County after Hurricane Isaias tore through the Panhandle, and more than 420,000 Florida customers were still without power Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff Chip Simmons said a woman was killed when a tree fell on her home, and a man died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator. He urged residents not to run generators indoors or in garages.
Escambia had the most outages, with about 130,000 customers in the dark. Santa Rosa County was hit hardest by share, with about 90% of customers losing power, Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
Crews have reopened I-10, US-98, and every state-owned bridge. DeSantis warned that flooding remains a threat, with 4 to 8 inches of rain forecast through the weekend.

Isaias Hits Panhandle as Category 2
Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin as a Category 2 hurricane Friday night, packing 105 mph winds.
It was the first hurricane to hit Florida since Milton struck the Sarasota area two years earlier to the day. A 116 mph gust was reported near Santa Rosa Sound, and an estimated 5 feet of storm surge was reported near Panama City Beach.
Storm surge flooded streets in Destin, and video showed a roof torn off a hotel in Okaloosa County. “It hit like a freight train, like a Mike Tyson punch,” said Lt. Gov. Jay Collins.
President Trump approved a federal emergency declaration covering 27 Florida counties. FEMA will pay 75% of the cost of emergency protective measures.

Court Orders Hope Florida Report Expunged
A Florida appeals court ordered the entire Hope Florida grand jury report wiped from court records, ruling the grand jury overstepped by accusing people of wrongdoing without indicting anyone.
The Leon County grand jury had concluded that $10 million from a Medicaid settlement with Centene was misappropriated in a “sophisticated scheme.” The money ended up with a political committee chaired by now-Attorney General James Uthmeier that opposed the 2024 marijuana and abortion amendments.
The 1st District Court of Appeal found the payment went straight from Centene to Hope Florida and “was never public money.” It also faulted State Attorney Jack Campbell for sending the confidential report to at least 49 people before those named could challenge it.
DeSantis called the ruling “the judicial equivalent of a death-by-firing squad to the Hope Florida Hoax.” Rep. Alex Andrade, whose House probe prompted the grand jury, declined to comment.
