Article Icon 1Tyreek Hill Arrested on Way to Dolphins Win

Miami Dolphins’ five-time All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by Miami-Dade police hours before the team’s home opener at Hard Rock Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Hill was stopped for speeding one block from the stadium and then got into a verbal altercation with police. He was placed in handcuffs when he became uncooperative.

A second player, Calais Campbell, saw what was happening, pulled over, and intervened with the officers. He was also placed in handcuffs and detained. See the video here.

Both players were ultimately released after Hill was cited for careless driving. Miami-Dade Police Department issued a statement saying an immediate review is in progress.

The Dolphins beat the Jaguars 20-17, with Hill scoring a touchdown on an 80-yard pass in the third quarter. He re-enacted his detainment to celebrate his score.

NASA announced Friday it is postponing the Escapade mission, the planned October launch of a pair of Mars-bound satellites on what was supposed to be the first launch of Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket from Cape Canaveral.

Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, announced it is moving up what was supposed to be its second flight and is now targeting November for New Glenn’s debut.

NASA said the decision to delay the mission until the spring was made because the chances of a delay could lead to cost increases.

Article Icon 1State Considers ‘Advanced’ Nuclear Technology

Florida officials met with experts and electric industry representatives last week to discuss “advanced” nuclear technology, including costs and regulations.

The meeting marked the first step for the Public Service Commission in implementing a legislative directive to submit a feasibility report by April.

Possible applications include adding nuclear power at military bases. Officials are considering how the technology may evolve over the next several decades.

Nuclear plants currently generate about 13 percent of Florida’s electricity, and no new nuclear plant has been built in the state since the 1980s.
