Happy Labor Day! In 1894, the first Monday in September was made a federal holiday to recognize workers’ many contributions to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being. We hope you’re doing something fun to celebrate!
Today’s edition of Flyover Florida is a little shorter than usual as our team takes time with family and friends for the Labor Day holiday. We’ll be back on Wednesday with a full-length roundup of the news that matters most across the Sunshine State.

The Push to 1,000
We’re nearly at 900 investors! Last week, we started a 10-day push to 1,000, and we’re down to four days to meet our goal.
Don’t forget: Everyone who invests before we hit the $2 million mark will get 10% bonus shares. We’ve raised over $1.3 million in a few weeks, and we don’t know how long the bonus shares will last.
A few days ago, we mentioned three reasons to invest in The Flyover. Today, we’ve got two more for you:
1:Our audience size Did you know that The Flyover’s audience is larger than the primetime viewership of MSNBC and CNN combined? America has shown strong demand for our unbiased approach, and our market share is growing daily.
2: Our margins Lots of companies raise money on hope, but we’re raising money on a solid financial foundation. We operate at an 80% gross margin and 24% net. Invest in a company that’s already profitable!
We’re looking for 110 Flyover readers to join our cause in the next four days. Will you be one of them?
A once-in-a-lifetime ride for two on the Goodyear Blimp is up for auction to support an Ohio nonprofit. The trip can be taken from one of three Blimp airship bases, including one in Pompano Beach.
The auction is part of a celebration of the airship’s first flight 100 years ago. The Pilgrim airship made its maiden voyage on June 3, 1925, from Wingfoot Lake near Akron, Ohio.
Goodyear Tire Company started building lighter-than-air aircraft in 1910, and by 1912, it had built its first balloon. In 1930, the Defender blimp became the first airship in the world to carry a lit neon sign so the company’s name could be seen after dark.
Amy Freeman came up with the idea for The Spice & Tea Exchange during a 40th birthday trip to St. Augustine in 2007. While visiting a small shop, she pitched the owners on expanding and franchising.
Soon after, Freeman, now the company’s CEO, joined forces with Penny Rehling, now the president. Today, they have 96 locations around the country, including the first store in St. Augustine. Several more stores are scheduled to open in the coming months.
An experience-based retailer, the company’s mission is “creating and sharing the experience of a more flavorful life.” It carries over 125 exclusive products curated by in-house “spice masters” and at its franchise locations.
