Own The Flyover
A Message of Thanks — And a Big Update for The Flyover Readers

Thanks to you, our readers, The Flyover has officially raised $1 million in less than two weeks through our reader-owned investment campaign.

That kind of momentum puts us among the fastest crowdfunding (Regulation CF) campaigns in the country—and it’s only possible because you believe in what we’re building together. Thank you!

We launched The Flyover to give Americans a bias-free, fact-first alternative to legacy media. Your overwhelming response tells us this mission matters—and we’re humbled by your trust.

While the 10% bonus shares for our first $1 million raised have now ended, we’re excited to announce:
  • 5% Bonus Shares for the next $1 million raised.
  • PLUS another 5% Bonus if you’ve been a Flyover reader for over a month.
That means qualifying readers can still earn up to 10% bonus shares—but only during this next $1 million tranche.  We have made shares as easily available and affordable as possible at $2 per share, with a $750 minimum.

If you missed the first $1 million, don’t miss the next. Every share you buy helps us grow The Flyover and bring bias-free news to more readers than ever. Together, we’re proving that honest, fact-first journalism has a future—and that future can be owned by the people who read it.

Article Icon 1Deportation Depot Coming

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the expansion of Florida’s capacity to detain and deport those in the country illegally with the opening of a temporary immigration detention facility in North Florida.

The governor said Baker Correctional Institution in Sanderson, 43 miles west of Jacksonville, will now serve as a “Deportation Depot” and “build on the success the state has had with Alligator Alcatraz.”

Deportation Depot will hold over 1,300 detainees and will have the same services as Alligator Alcatraz. Nearby Lake City Airport will be utilized for deportation flights.

The facility is expected to be operational within three weeks. The estimated build-out cost is $6 million, which federal partners will reimburse.

Article Icon 1Sen. Albritton Hints at Resigning

Florida Senate President Ben Albritton, a Hardee County Republican, hinted that he may not finish his Senate term while nominating Sen. Jim Boyd as the president-designate for the 2026-28 term.

Albritton called for a special meeting on Oct. 14 to officially name the new Senate president. Albritton’s term runs through 2028, though the 2026 legislative session would be his last as Senate president.

At legislative delegation meetings in Charlotte County and Hardee County, Albritton said his current round of such meetings would be his last.

Boyd is the Republican majority leader in the Florida Senate. He served in the House from 2010 to 2018 and was elected to the Senate in 2020.

Article Icon 1Executive Order to Boost Commercial Space

President Trump signed an executive order last week that shifted NASA’s balance of power and removed regulatory barriers for commercial launches.

The Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry order calls for the Secretary of Transportation to reevaluate, amend, and rescind any regulations as needed impacting businesses seeking orbit.

The order directs multiple federal agencies to streamline launch licensing, fast-track spaceport construction, and better support emerging in-space industries.

You can’t be No. 1 on Earth if you’re No. 2 in space,” Cape Canaveral’s Rep. Mike Haridopolos said. “This executive order cuts red tape to speed up launch permits and infrastructure development for our commercial space industry.”
