Article Icon 1 Water Release from Lake Okeechobee

The Army Corps of Engineers announced it will begin eastern discharges from Lake Okeechobee on Dec. 7 to lower the lake’s level from 16 feet to 11.5 feet as part of what they’re calling “Lake Recovery Operations.”

The size and proportion of the discharges announced would violate the Corps’ newest operating manual, which is supposed to prioritize southern discharges into the Everglades and greatly reduce eastern and western discharges in the process.

The lake’s discharges have been directly responsible for the loss of seagrass in Florida’s eastern estuaries, which was responsible for the manatee starvation crisis three years ago.

Environmental groups worry that these discharges would do more harm than good in the dry season.

Article Icon 1 Space Coast Named a ‘Best Place’ to Travel

Florida’s Space Coast landed on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of “The Best Places to Go in North America & the Caribbean” in 2025.

Lauded for its “soaring rockets and dazzling bioluminescence,” the Space Coast’s 72-mile coastline—from Titusville to Palm Bay—is also listed in the company’s The 25 Best Places to Go in 2025, highlighting destinations worldwide.

The Indian River Lagoon is noted as one of the best places in the U.S. for viewing bioluminescence. During clear-bottom kayak trips, travelers can watch pops of glowing water—the result of millions of tiny light-producing creatures reacting to movement.

The newest trend in real estate

Forget DIY renovations. Co-ownership could do to real estate what Uber did to taxis.

It’s simple: buyers share ownership of a high-value asset, splitting costs while enjoying all the benefits. And it’s spreading like wildfire – growing 21% per year.

Take vacation homes, for example. They’re expensive to own and vacant most of the year. Co-ownership lets people fully utilize these properties at a fraction of the cost.

Companies like Pacaso are already leading the charge. Through their digital marketplace, users buy, sell, and finance vacation home shares. It’s been a huge success. They’ve already handed keys to 1,500+ happy homeowners, earning Pacaso $100m in gross profits.

And for the first time, everyday investors can own Pacaso stock. Learn more about investing in Pacaso before their share price changes 12/5.
