“Today, I filed legislation to ensure Florida state records reflect the new name of this beautiful body of water—the Gulf of America,” DiCeglie said.
Previously, Gov. Ron DeSantis started using “Gulf of America” after the name change was ordered by President Trump. Google Maps also changed the name for its U.S. users.
State lawmakers are expected to take up the proposal after the legislative session starts in March.
