According to the Forbes 400, an annual ranking of the world’s wealthiest billionaires, over 50 of Florida’s wealthiest individuals and families increased their total net worth in 2024.

The list features 400 billionaires and their families, including nearly 40 in the Palm Beach area whose combined fortune totals $520.8 billion. 

Forbes reported that the combined wealth of these billionaires across the nation totals $5.4 trillion, an increase of nearly $1 trillion from 2023.

CNBC recently ranked the 75 most valuable college athletic programs, with Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big Ten schools dominating the list.

The SEC’s sports programs are worth a combined $13.3 billion, an average of $832 million per school, followed by the Big Ten at $13.2 billion, an average of $734 million per school.

The University of Florida (No. 14) and Florida State University (No. 24) are valued at $865 million and $673 million, respectively, with the University of Miami (No. 31) valued at $639 million.

The University of Central Florida (No. 70) made the list at $181 million, and the University of South Florida (No. 74) came in at $150 million.
