Attorney General Sues Snapchat
Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier is suing Snapchat’s parent company for potential violations of the state’s Online Protections for Minors law—also known as House Bill 3 (HB3)—and the Deceptive and Unfair Practices Act. The high-profile HB 3 aims to keep children off some social media platforms.
The lawsuit claims Snapchat continues to allow underage users and fails to disclose the risks of the app’s addictive features to parents of minors, as is mandated under the law. There are also concerns that the app is being used by predators to target minors.
Industry groups filed a challenge to the law in federal court last year, seeking an injunction. Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker refused the request, clearing the way for Florida to begin enforcing the law.
A revised version of the injunction request was filed on March 28, with the group’s lawyer stating, “Like similar laws that have preceded it, HB 3 violates the First Amendment.”
Millions Approved to Bid for Orlando Sporting Events
Orange County Commissioners voted 6-1 on Tuesday to approve $29.46 million in tourist development tax sports incentives to attract high-profile sporting events to Orlando over the next six years.
Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, requested funding for an $11 million bid to bring the Jacksonville Jaguars to Camping World Stadium in 2027 while their stadium is being built.
Jason Siegel, president and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, requested $18 million as he works to bring WWE and UFC events to the county, including WrestleMania and Royal Rumble.
Other funded bids include the 2025 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior National Volleyball Championships, the 2026 USA Fencing North America Cup, and the Pride Cup.
Rep. Monique Miller, R-Palm Bay, spearheaded the bill to defund tourism marketing programs currently supported by hotel tax revenue. Instead, money collected would be spent on official county projects and contracts or property tax refunds.
Under the bill, counties that want to fund tourism marketing will have to find money elsewhere. Pinellas and Hillsborough counties collect more than $150 million from hotels each year to fund everything from ads to attraction improvements to beach renourishment projects.
The measure includes dissolving 62 tourist development councils in Florida, with an end date no later than Dec. 1. All but five counties in Florida have tourist development councils.

This method has been vetted by scientists from the University College Cork.
Their studies, made on 674 women dealing with deep wrinkles, dark spots and saggy skin clearly showed how, by simply doing this for 10-seconds in the mirror, they dramatically improved their appearance in less than a few weeks.
This odd method is so effective that scientists have deemed it to be 10 times better than retinol but with none of the side effects.
